The kitchen is coming along. && it makes me very happy.
Here's my list of things to do (& as you can see most things are crossed off):
Move refrigerator$0Move cabinets around$0Remove odd cabinet and replace with shelving$40Remove wallpaper$0 completed by removing soffitFix/replace side window$0Concrete counter tops$100Replace back-splash with pallet back-splash$0Replace kitchen sink with black kitchen sink from parents$0Buy new faucet$170Build pantry for far corner$100- Paint laminate cabinet doors (grey)
Paint(ceiling$40,walls,pantry$30)- Paint refrigerator black chalkboard $10
- Replace flooring in kitchen (not happening for awhile)
Spray paint baking sheetsand hang inside cabinets- EAT wall art $6
Add outlet on other side of window$5Drywall ceilingPut in attic access$100- Touch up paint and trim
Replace kitchen light since the old one broke$30- Molding around top of cabinets
As you can see, there really isn't much left to do. Painting is a big thing. The cabinets, refrigerator, and trim need to be painted along with some painting touch ups here and there. I didn't really have a budget for the kitchen and even with the hiccups (like having to redo the ENTIRE ceiling) I am pretty happy with the amount of money spent. As of right now, adding up everything it's under $700. That's not bad, especially considering the most expensive thing was my fancy new faucet, which we put in this weekend by the way.
This weekend, the window trim when in, the small gap between the backsplash and counter got caulked, and the faucet went in (and that's only the things that happened in the kitchen!)
Here's some updated kitchen photos.
Putting up the shelves!
Not quite sure what I want on the top shelf yet. Just threw some stuff up there.
Putting the window sill in.
Window trimmed.
New faucet!!
Pano view of the entire kitchen
Trimmed window at night (much easier to see without light flowing in).
So there you have my kitchen update. More to come, when it warms up enough for me to paint the cabinet doors.
